The seal was found in the early morning by a man walking his dog, the seal was initially tangled in a net and was dumped in the grass at the top of the beach. The net was removed and the animal rescue services called. The seal which was temporarily named ‘Ross’ was rescued later and is being brought to Dingle Seal Sanctuary where he/she will be fattened by 15lb before being released into the wild again and was showing signs of being in good health.
Nice picture, it’s great to hear he’s doing well. They’re quite busy down in Dingle this year, there was a seal pup rescued on Youghal beach recently too.
