Hi all and Merry Christmas once again….
After spending the last hour or so looking through this gallery over on Fred Miranda I though we could do something similar here:
http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/476938/0
The above gallery has some of the best wildlife shots I have seen in a while and is really worth a look… There is also a favourites gallery over in their Lansacpe section that has some stunning work that is also worth browsing.
So if you have a favourite from 2006 (or favourites thats ye cant decide on) post them here for a gawk. If they have been posted before what the hell….! Here are mine…:
20D 300mm F4 IS
1/200s f6.3 ISO 400 (God Bless IS)
5D 300mm F4 IS and 1.4x Canon converter
1/160s f6.3 ISO 500 (God Bless IS again….!)
20D Sigma 105 macro
1/125s f4 ISO 400Sorry about 3 but I cant choose….!
So show me yours… come on…!

ExpresbroParticipantGreat Pics Ritchie…my favourite is No.3. Maybe it’s just me cos I’m not in long and it’s late and been a long day…but I swear that guy is grinning at the camera… 8) Kinda reminds me of that movie A Bugs Life…

joe_elwayParticipantThat Dragon/Damsel Fly shot is fantastic. I’ve had many an effort at shooting them over the last summer and can really appreciate what it took to take something like that. The water drops make it even better.
My best memories from 2006 were 2 weeks in Tanzania last Feb and finding a Kestrel’s hunting ground a few mile from my house. I never get close to the Kestrel (it’s an ongoing effort) but I did get close to some stuff in the Serengeti. I’ve previously posted my all time fave shot which was a Black Kite from Ngorongoro. I’ve not had too much luck with Irish wildlife.
This last one was shot on an eqautorial midday in JPEG cos the batteries on my image tank had run flat:
richiehatchMemberThomas… thats a shot I tried many times to get…. its virtually impossible as there is no way of predicing where or when they will jump. At least you got one in your shot…! If its your favourite image of the year thats all that matters…!
Joe… I get so jealous when i see shots like yours…. excellent work…!
Thanks again for the comments
Richie
shutterbugParticipantThis is one of my favourites purely because it took me so long to get it!
I have other favourites from the zoo, but that is kinda “captive audience”
so didnt think it counted.
