Alan RossiterParticipant
Following on from Garys suggestion I thought that we could post our first image posted here on PI…for the craic.
This is mine which was way back in March 2007. This took me about 1.5 hours to get the background blurred (no, it wasn’t a tight DOF) as I was only at the photography lark about 2 months at the time and extreme DOF wasn’t a skill I had especially with a kit lens. It was recently published in a tourist booklet for Wexford along with 5 other images. So, where’s yours?
Alan.
Mr.HParticipantYou did well on the blur there alan. So somewhere along the line you realised that you could achieve the same blur in 1/60s in camera. Thats some time saving.
Heres mine – again March or possibly April 07. Pink cast added in PS.
5faytheParticipantSeems longer ago to me but my 1st post was very
recent on the 4th of March 2009.BrickerParticipantDeeboParticipantHi Alan
Good idea, here is my first image taken about 2 years ago and only been snapping a few weeksDee
MartinOCParticipantFrom Dec 2007, I posted 3 together in my first post but this was the best. I got some good feedback, and the following Autumn I think I did a better job.
MartinDenverDollParticipantHere’s mine..I knew I was playing it safe with the doggy theme..but we all can think back to how intimidating it can be to ask for help in the beginning..and as I recall…after the Buffydog thing..I went out on a limb and got lambasted with my first attempt at landscape
May 2007..more than two years ago~~
Mick451Participantjb7Participantgood thread-
I’m pretty sure this was my first image posted here-
a clickable thumbnail, but that was the old days-
nobody gave out- but not many looked at it either-Posted Sept 16, 2006.
there were two pictures in the post, this was one of them-
pictures of some friends on the Liffey Descent…https://www.photographyireland.net/viewtopic.php?t=1346
Alan RossiterParticipantGoing by these images I don’t think we were to bad really. I can’t answer for Joseph – http://www.postimage.org where the images are hosted is treated as a porn site where I work!
Any more?
Alan
jessthespringerParticipantMy first couple are missing, the thumbnail is there, but no picture when I open it…
This is the next… Got told off about the thumbnail, by jb7! (other than that, he was nice)
randomwayMemberHere’s mine: https://www.photographyireland.net/viewtopic.php?p=45101&highlight=#45101. I’m surprised I didn’t get more slagging for posting this. It got better by the second one: https://www.photographyireland.net/viewtopic.php?p=45153&highlight=#45153
aoluainParticipantThese were my first two ???
IU thought I had posted some before these, but according to my posts . . . these were.

kenhParticipantJMac-2006ParticipantThis was my first post got about 50 views and no comments, as at that stage i hadnt figured out how to post more than thumbnail view. this was a handheld set of i think 16 images blended and stitched in elements. might look a bit small here though
