Possibly soon: Nikkor 50mm F1.8 D and a telephoto macro as well.Canon Ixus 55 for quick snaps when I don’t feel like lugging the D50 around
ciaranParticipantNow all I need is your home addresses and working hours  (only kidding!)
I got my D70 back in April 2004 (first SLR let alone dSLR).
Nikkor 18-70mm Kit Lens
Nikkor 70-300mm f4.5-5.6 ED
Nikkor 50mm f1.8
Nikon SB600 speedlightI wanted a faster all round lens instead of the kit lens
Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 EX-DG
And while I was at it, bought the faster
Nikkor 50mm f1.4
Late last year I bought the D2X as well as
Nikon SB800 speedlight
Nikkor 80-400mm VRExpensive hobby!
FajitasParticipantActually forgot to add polarisars, tripod, monopod, beanbag with screw release.
And cable release…light meter…few other gadgets! ;)
Very expensive hobby…but ain’t it worth it!
ciaranParticipantAhhh accessories.. the list is endless :D
CF Card(s), Camera bag(s), EPSON P2000 card reader/picture viewer, hand held reflector, grey card etc etc etc etc…
And thats before you get into your PC/Printer/Software
I’m shocked sometimes at the money you can sink into it. Thank God I love it!
MarkKeymasterCiaran,
Jeez, seems like you got the whole kit and kaboddle :D
Planning on getting maybe the 70-200 VR or 80-400 VR next year.
ciaranParticipantI really REALLY wanted the 70-200 f2.8 VR but trying to find one proved too difficult and the money I had put aside for it was burning a hole in my pocket, so I went for the 80-400mm. Whilst I love the lens, if I had a choice I’d still opt for the 70-200mm.
As for going the whole hog, luckily I have my own business which helps me fund my “habit”. I’ve also been lucky to take on some small amounts of commission as well as having images in stock libraries. But it still costs
To date I guess my biggest dud buy was definitely the 70-300mm – very poor lens in my opinion.
MarkKeymasterI was same, wanted the 70-200 VR, ordered it from warehouseexpress.com but they had problems getting hold of it so I got the D200 instead, had to spend the money i had aside for it.
I bought the Sigma 70-300 APO II, meant to be a good deal better than the Nikon one for sure.
I’d like to compare quality of the Sigma against a comparable Nikon lens.I’m not 100% happy with the Sigma to be honest.

They sound quite similar so :)

NoahParticipantI use a Canon 5D with the Canon 17-30mm L, 28-135mm, 100mm macro, and 70-300mm, and Photoshop CS2. No new printer yet since I moved here, but one of these days…
LoGillParticipantWell really I just started last November with a loaned D70 and then I got my D200 and Kit lens 18-70 mm in April
I’ve a small stash of accessories – filters, bag and vertical grib/ battery pack..and I steal/ borrow other lenses from time to time (but plan to start a collection of my own just as soon as i get familiar enough with what i like/need etc..) :?
One thing i’m seriously considering for the near future is a zig viewer for street and candid shots … but thats my set up so far.
