It depends on what you shoot I guess, but if it’s people, then a good speed light is well worth the investment.
I’ve got a hama box for product photography ,but I’d say a flash would be good for that and for other indoor object photography.
without this swaying off the OP ,I keep picturing myself inside old buildings and indoors taking shots with a speedlite.
They’re very expensive .Yeah they are expensive, but for the shots I take, they can make the difference between getting the shot or not getting anything at all. I guess you have to ask yourself how much that is worth? Like everything in life, quality comes at a cost, so investing in a good one is worth it.

I also have a sh*t load of other stuff that i thought i needed, spent too much money on and now cant remember what they are…!
I am on the verge of getting a 5D and a 24mm Tilt and Shift for Architecture stuff…!Nuff said…. I generally dont like listing my equipment but sure what the hell… I have the time…!
