Your kit…

I want the 18-200 vr as well Nigel, my hands aint what they used to be.

I have the small Nikon Coolpix P3 with VR, you can hand-hold it at 1/15th no bother.

Main camera is Nikon D2x, recently sold my old D100 and got the Fuji S3 as backup, interesting piece of kit, not in the same league as the D2x though.
Nikon FM3A and F80 35 mm film (love that FM3A)
    Mamiya RB67
    SinarP

I recently tested the mamiya against the d2x… quality wise, the D2x wins unless you’re prepared to spend hours cleaning the 67 negs.
A friend has leant me the Sinar, so having fun playing with that, currently looking for a dev tank for 5″ x 4″ negatives!

I would recommend everyone get a 50mm prime lens for their DSLRs, the kit zooms make you lazy and the primes are sharper (took the D2X to remind me of this).

If I had to choose 1 setup, it would be the D2x, 50mm,sb800.

I’ll record my stuff here too. Mostly picked up over the last year as bargains on eBay and pretty much all due for replacement as funds allow, but the next thing must be a DSLR, likely to be the 30D, unless a new model comes out in the interim.

    Main kit…
    Canon 50E
    Canon 28mm/f2.8
    Canon 50mm/f1.8 II
    Canon 28-105/f3.5-4.5 USM
    Canon 75-300/f4.5-5.6 USM III
    Canon 220EX flash
Various tripods, bags, filters, cleaning stuff.

    Also…
Pentax Optio S5n (always in pocket)
    Praktica BM + 50mm/f2.8 + Sigma 70-210/f4-5.6 + Cobra D400 dedicated flash (owned since 1990-ish)
    Rollei 35 + E15B flash
    Canon 300V + Canon 28-80/f4-5.6 II

The 300V was bought to get the 28mm lens that was in the same auction but the camera is currently surplus to requirements, as I suppose is the Praktica gear.

    My current setup is a
    Konica Minolta Dynax5D using the lens’s I had with the Dynax 5. 28-80mm & 75-300mm.
I still have the Minolta Dynax 5 at home, but not currently in-use… but that is always subject to change.

I also have a Canon powershot A250 (rubbish), that’s for the night out when I want o be able to take pic’s but don’t want to worry about the camera.
An old Olympus mju ii zoom 120 for wet weather, but in reality I haven’t used it since I got the minolta… and I’m looking into getting a rain cover for the Minolta which will be the end of the olympus for sure.
previous to the canon P&S digicam, I had a Nikon coolpix775 fantastic camera gave far better results than the canon but unfortunately had a few dead pixles in the middle of the CCD that game out green in every photo.

I had an Olympus mju zoom 80, but that had a collision with a pillar, previous to that was a Ricoh something or other which again had a couple of bangs and then eventually had an overdose of sand. previous to that was one of those old Le Clic 110mm cartridge things.. and before that was my aunts old 135mm cartridge camera that I got at my cousins christening, that cousin is now ~20 ! So I’ve had some sort of camera for years now.. And I still can’t use any of the manual settings !

Phew – I’m glad I’m not the only one that thinks like that :D

Me, I use two hands and a brain, supplemented by a selection of Canon film and digital bodies along with appropriate lenses and a Bronica ETRSi system thrown in for good measure!
