Your strongest photo of 2008
-
aoluainParticipant
Took this recently and I have submitted it as I feel from an architecture point of view it is technically
good, no converging angles.
I like the simplicity of the 3 basic colours, blue, black and white and the strong subject, the boyne cable bridge. The quality of this image posted here is lacking as it is reduced from a 65mb file to 115kb.
I will be posting a write-up on the equipment used at a later stage.
mgstParticipantMaybe not my strongest shots of 2008 but one of my favourites and well worth getting up early for.

MarkKeymasterI have a few from the year which I’m happy with. But this one is something different from my usual attempts at landscape.
nfl-fanParticipantHas to be nfl-butt: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nfl-fan/2765699990/
Reason: Most ever views and responses of Flickr, plus a few added it as a favourite. Can photography give you any more back I ask?
JExpresbroParticipantReason: I won my first Camera Club competition with this shot, and I personally think it is probably my best shot of this year. Oh and it looks great in print..hehe!!
Saying that, the latter half of this year has been very quiet on the photography front for me..so hopefully I’ll go out with a bang and start 2009 on a strong footing :-)

Reason: It was one of those places that you see and say that it would look good on a frosty morning with a fog on the river and I had seen it during the summer with that in mind. And it happened on the first visit last February.Alan
I am almost sure I’ve seen this photo today on the RTE Weather Forecast in the background….
Alan RossiterParticipantThis is the 6th time it’s been on so full marks for pointing it out just in case it was stolen.
Cheers Zoltan.

shutterbugParticipantAll of these are spectacular, and just goes to show what a talented bunch you
all are, I dont have any “strong” shots but this is one of my favourite shots from
this year, purely because the scenery was stunning so really has nothing to do
with my “expertise” with a camera, but brings back lovely memories of a great
holiday.
kindredspiritParticipantDenverDollParticipantNot a “strong” image..but I think my best loved~~~
(might just be the spirit of the season  )GrahamBParticipantI’m gonna go with this one. Mainly for the time and the place.
Oh and i love the shot as wellMallachtParticipantThis was the Icefields Parkway in the Canadian Rockies and is my favourite photo for this year
I call it the old man as there is an interesting cloud formation just right of centre and up a bitstasberMemberDifficult to say which is my strongest but this is one of my favourites, taken in January no less with a camera and lens I had used only once before just having purchased some new toys. A good start to the year, but you’d be kinda hoping to take better pics all along ;)

reason: my first attempt at compositing (& posting an image to the site…..hope it works !!)
Took the shot of ground & 18mm focal length & the moon was pinhead size.
Then took moon 200mm seperate image & played with both until I was satisfied with result.
Used nikon D2x with 18-200mmDX lens without tripod (sunshine made this possible)Gerry
JMac-2006ParticipantReason: This picture was taken in February and was well worth the early 6am start. This is probably my strongest composition with the rocks leading the eye to horizon of Sandycove with Martello tower and the fantastic sky and clouds lit up by the rising sun. The five second exposure helped capture the mood. I have this printed large and hanging on my wall and it looks great.
