Hi all, invested in a Canon Eos 350D as an ugrade from a Kodak 6490.

Delighted with the camera but I do miss the 10X optical zoom.
Mainly for sports and landscape snaps which lens would you recommend?

Yep thats the lens kit I have.
Money wise I have absolutely no idea about lenses so I suppose I will need some recommendations before I decide.
I dont have a set budget, more so will see how much I need before choosing.

well if you want to spend some serious money the canon 100-400 is a very popular lens

but if you want to spend maybe 300 or so get the sigma 75-300 lots of people have them here and say they are great

Cheers stcstc, probably best with the sigma for now.

Can really justify the canons price as I am more or less a beginner!

Any idea as to the best place price wise to order this?

    Canon 70-300 IS USM f4-5.6

Check this lens out. I just got one and I’m very happy with it. The IS is superb! Its good at the 300 end which is where most of the consumer zooms in the 70/75-300 range fail at.
Not strictly a sports lens but a great allrounder. (If you want a dedicated sports lens you will pay big big bucks)

Calumet are in Belfast and can ship to you for around ?15 or so, overnight (although not sure if they have it in stock at the moment or not).
