Sorry for the late reply, I was away on business!!
Thanks to everyone who congratulated me, I am only new to this site and think that fun competitions like this are a great way to learn.
For those who are interested, for the image firstly I warmed it up abit, then seperated the layers in Foreground, midground and background and went over the edges of the forground with a yellow line and blured and color dodged it (aswell as later using slight defuse glow), Also there are ALOT of layers in there with subtle highlights and shadows as well as not so subtle highlight to blow out the sky.
Rasmith32 – I find the best way to add shadows is to draw your shadow out, then blur it and then use colour burn and bring the opacity right doen so its very subtle, Subtly is the key.
Thanks again, I’m looking forward to the next one!!
Thanks for your comments, I do agree with what you are both saying about the midtones and shadows but Gossebanker I think I prefer the composition with more space on the right, Just personnal preference.
Thanks for taking the time to take a look at my images. I think I’ll take you advice on image 01 and go for B+W, I’m going to have another play with 04 aswell boost the sky maybe.
