Perhaps some good news for you. One of our local photo club members told me a few weeks ago that he had met the farmer and it’s not a house that’s being built but some land drainage going on. When it’s complete the field should look much the same as it did before. The part of the field that is nearest the road was often very wet and sometimes even flooded.
I really would like him to do a split field again, I got a shot of the last one and it’s one of my favourites. You can see it at http://www.pbase.com/kilkenny_photo_society/image/96138073. I reckon it’s not only the most photographed tree in Carlow but also in Ireland. I passed it one day a few years ago and there were three cars there and about 5 people photographing it.
well technically any mini lab is a photographic print, but i guess thats not what your looking for
also
most high quality inkjet prints actually have a wider colour gamut and longevity than mini lab type prints
I would tend to agree with you on all that but the customer is always right! In this case he has had some bad experiences with ink jets fading in the past and does not want to take that risk again. If he wants to pay for a photographic print I’ll organise it for him. The mini booths are photographic all right but I understand from an engineer who services a lot of them that they ignore all colour profile information altogether.

Try Photobox, I think they produce traditional prints from digital files.
Thanks for that input, I have used Photobox in the past but was not overly impressed with their consistency. I was wondering whether there is a specialist printer lurking somehere, preferably in Ireland since we are now fighting for economic survival :)
