Hi lads my camera arrived from hong kong yesterday and I have to say my experience with eglobal has been a positive one :D
Firstly I made a purchase with them on Sunday 5th January online and then on Wednesday 8th January they notified me that the camera was currently out of stock and couldn’t give a definate restock date at the moment and were very sorry for any inconvenience, initally I was a little disappointed upon hearing the news but look thats life so I said I’d leave it for a day or two and see if they could come up with a restock date which would allow me make a decision, as I did not want to buy this camera elsewhere cause it was at least 25% more expensive.
Friday the 10th I went online with eglobal and started livechat (chat was about an hour) still no restock date, would you like a full refund or choose an alternative, I went for another camera, the staff were very apologetic, responsive and polite so adeal was done for an alternative and I was notified that it was dispatched on Wednesday the 15th in hong kong and it arrived with me on Friday 17th with dhl
Im well happy there’s no duty/vat to pay there’s a clear pouch on the package with a letter stating camera parts (batteries) invoice for 17 euros this I suppose is the loop hole through customs.
Now I know some will be bothered about warranty but for me I gauge things on knowledge from past experiences and personally I have never had to return a camera, watch, phone, tv, microwave, toaster, kettle, etc, etc, so am I going to worry, no, lifes to short.
Also just to let you know all eglobal livechat conversations are sent back to you by email for reference, im very happy the way things went for me. Eglobal might not be for everyone regards warranty, customs, not been able to just pick up the phone etc and ya there are some negative comments out there but there are also 4 times as many positive ones.
My camera is tiptop with english instructions and manuals so I will defo be buying my others here as well.
Hi lads thanks for replys.
Before the replys were posted for mymemory, I went ahead and bought a 32gb intergal ultima pro sdhc 45mb/sec class 10 uhs-1 at memoryC.com based in Kildare for 21 euro all in and super fast service.
I used mymemory as suggested here to buy another card yesterday, that card is a 32gb lexar micro sdhc 600x class 10 uhs-1 90mb/sec and comes with a usb 3.0 reader all for 36 euros.
Now that I’ve learned a bit about the different cards, the read/write speeds, class, size etc over the last week, I think I’ve got excellent value for my money especially considering the spec of these cards and what they can do.
Thanks
I’ve gone ahead and bought online from eglobal and for what I’m looking for they are substantially cheaper than anywhere else I’ve checked, will post later how I got on, thanks again ballistix.
Hi there lads, im in the outdoor adventure game so I need waterproof, shockproof etc cameras. I’m looking at buying olympus tg2, Panasonic tf5 or nikon aw110 as an alternative to the gopros.
I can buy 4 nikon aw110 with pixmania which I would only get 3 of them here for the same money.
I would love to be able to buy from a camera shop in Ireland as alot have closed down in the last few years and if I was buying just one camera I would for the higher price, but I’m buying a few and have to get value for my money.
I agree with you Paul thats why I’ve posted the tread as lm wary of buying from abroad and have heard stories of people getting e.g. french instruction manuals and 2 pin electric plugs etc not to mention warranty etc.
I have limited knowledge in this area and thats why I’m looking for any info and experiences others have had so I can make an informed decision before buying. Great link ( ballistix) been able to see a price comparison on the one page thats a great help.
