Great image but I agree about the light and shadows on the front. If you didn’t have or want to use a softbox on the front, a reflector below chest level could have provided a better quality catchlight
I had a Hadley Pro. Great bag BUT……when you leave it on a chair or a table, it’ll tumble over and fall off on to the floor, with all your gear in it!
Reason? There’s no stiff base to the bag, or studs or anything to prevent it doing that. I spoke to Billingham, they said “don’t leave it down on a table or chair”. Screw them, I sold it to a very nice man in China and now have a seriously good Kata Reporter. You have been warned lol
Hi Wendy, I have a Canon 500D, and I bought a book by Jeff Revell, published by Peachpit Press. It is written specifically for my camera, and is 270 illustrated pages that take you from setting up the essentials on your camera, to advanced shooting techniques. I found it really good, and I’m sure he has a book out for your model. As the title of the book says ” From Snapshots to Great Shots”, and it isn’t full of technical drivel, it’s a very helpful aid. Cheers
The cheapest compatible batteries, in the past from Taiwan or Hong Kong but now more like China, are also the nastiest and won’t be anywhere as good. If you buy carefully and only buy branded items, you can still get a decent life for around half of what you’d pay for a camera manufacturer battery. The advice about getting a high MaH is good too.
The trouble with cheap kit from the Far East is that it is usually also nasty, and comes with un-earthed two pin plugs. Not really made for any kind of serious use.
I got my Giottos tripod from Morris Photographic in the UK. They are happy, nay almost extatic to mail to Ireland and if they don’t have what you want, they’ll get it pretty quick. Cheers
Climberhunt hit the nail on the head there. Wacom is the daddy, and adjusting skin in Photoshop is where the tablet excels, once you get used to it that is. Don’t use Photoshop? maybe hold off then.
