I really like this. I love the way it looks almost organic, like some kind of nut or shell and the way the lines of the planks lead your eye in. Obviously a shame about the grass in the foreground but I don’t really know what you could have done about that
I love the second shot of the Eiffel Tower too – very atmospheric and reminds me of something shot on an old plate glass camera. Did you hve to do much processing other than convert to monochrome?
Hmmm … there was even more clutter if I included her feet but I should probably have cropped tighter and higher at above knee height to lose the buildings entirely – thanks for the feedback
smbee: you’re right. Shows the importance of details I guess – I was so busy grabbing the shot, I didn’t even think about how the background would turn out. Might try and convert it to white or something.
I have the HTC Desire HD and tbh I wouldn’t consider it lo-fi anymore.
Time to start posting them in the regular critique forums I think ;)
:)
Oh no, Mark’s rumbled my ploy! Yeah I did actually reconsider and post the Jaguar shot in the close-up and macro forum I think. But in my defense I don’t have a hoighty-toighty Desire HD, I only have the plebs’ version ;)
