I used camera yesterday “in the field” for the first time, conditions were very good and took some nice shots, but again when I got home and processed them I’m a little disappointed with the sharpness. It has to be me! BTW, I would like to buy a polarizing filter, can anyone suggest a good one? thousands on the internet but I could be buying a piece of crap!
Dave, I’ve absolutely no idea! I just kept checking the site every day and eventually it allowed me reserve it for collection the following week. I fully expected it to “never arrive”. They even sent a text to my mobile to tell me it was ready for collection even though it was still showing as “out of stock” on their website. So I went to the Liffey Valley store on Wednesday fully expecting to be told it was an error and they didn’t actually have it in stock, but lo and behold, they did! But they are showing the item in stock in the north for £480ish.
No, it doesn’t include “training” but to be honest, my personal feelings about “free” training etc usually involves parting with some moola.
I picked up my camera during the week even though Argos never actually showed it “in stock” I managed to reserve it online.
Haven’t really had a chance to use it yet, hopefully tomorrow.
You’re right NFL, its over pixellated, I thought thats what “noise” was, you can also see a mottling effect on underside of rear “wing”.
Camera is a Canon Powershot,
JPG
F-stop f/2.6
exposure 1/400 sec
ISO 80
exposure bias +1
I’m using Photafiltre or Paint.net for processing.
Yep Dee, I understand the concept of leaving room for a vehicle to move into, but in the pursuit of getting image down to 1024 to upload (max allowed on some sites) I cropped pics down to the bone which does stunt them from an artistic viewpoint.
Do you mean the SX1 IS by any chance? Dpreview.com wasn’t very enthusiastic, only giving it a “recommended [just]”
Hi, yes! sorry, I got my S’s and i’s mixed up. its the SX1-IS. I was in one camera shop today and he dismissed it and tried to sell me a DSLR. I’d like some sort of balanced opinion on the thing.
