“I am using it with the Nikon d700 (which i am considering selling too) “
If you are selling the D700, could you let me know? In Belfast too, and strongly considering getting one of these and using my D300 as a second body. I’ll PM you with some contact details if thats ok.
Thanks for the replies. I have used this extensively, and it is superb. Even produces very useable images wide open. And teh 2x tele also works rather well, still fast accurate autofocus. Looks like a got a good ‘un…
My 24-70 f2.8 went back to sigma after I dropped it and returned a lot sharper after I asked them to check it. So there are certainly bad examples of lenses out there.
Thanks guys for the replies, as I’m north of the border, its off to Sigma UK in the morning.
I will ensure I have UV protectors on all my lens from now on. Oh, and I’ll check my bag is zipped closed properly too…
I’m a mountain biker and enjoy looking at other MTB photogs work, so I was browsing an online gallery (hosted by a club) from a race i’d taken pictures at and there it was. Not too impessed, I set up an account, contacted the guy and put a post about stealing images on their chat forum. Private and public apologies followed, and the matter was resolved.
Thanks for tye replies, I’ll hopefully have my own site soon so will look into that clear mask idea!
How can you have the Sugababes and Jimi Hendrix on the same list?
Easy. Push the button is a simple slick bit of cheesy bubblegum pop, with a catcy riff, simple uplifting chord structure and a rather fine accompanying video.
Hendrix redefined the electric guitar as an instrument, and Mitch Mitchell (RIP) is my favourite drummer of all time. Their groove, dynamics and occasional uncharted noodling were simply spellbinding.
Each does what they do very well, and each makes my list of music that I enjoy, albeit in very different ways. Sometimes you want steak, sometimes a burger.
I love acoustic guitars, acapella music, and music that was never anything but ones and zeros till it fell out of my DAC. My favourite is symphonic punk country disco tho.
Soundgarden, Sugababes (ok, only really push the button), Roni Size, Leftfield, Metallica, Cj Bolland, Stone roses, Hendrix, Nine inch Nails, Norah Jones, Guy Clarke, John B, Prodigy, The Police (not sting though), a lot of dance music (some cheese, some hard as nails), Zero7, classical stuff, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Chemical Brothers, REM, and so on.
Only stuff I cannot stand is the brand of country and western that is widely touted as “entertainment” in many pubs in Northern Ireland. Country roads do indeed tend to take me home!
