we had called in one sat lunch time for a coffee, as it was just across from the open air market, and it was quite empty, but apparently it was one of the busiest spots in the area at night. it had a licence and had live music, was just sorry we were leaving that day, wished we’d discovered it earlier. i could just imagine it full of people drinking wine and chilling out.
darr, love the pic, never seen one of them before. are they common here??? or just in certain places?
pete, this is probably a stupid question, but is it illegal to photograph otters???? or am i having a blonde moment(or should that be a grey one), im sure you cant shoot them,,,,,
firstly fquihen, sorry i should have apologised for highjacking onto your post!!
stcstc, thank you, but what does scaling the image up mean?? is that something i do myself, or is it done by the printer (yes, i did say a beginner, lol)
miki, thank you, think it might i might have cropped it a bit, but not too much. think i might get one or two done that dont need cropping just to see how they turn out.
i also had a photograph that i wanted to print for someone, but when i went to have it printed i was told that it would loose the quality if i printed it above 10×12, which was way too small for what we wanted (friend wanted to frame this print and hang).
i am using a canon 400d, and take all my pictures on the highest quality setting. im afraid i dont use photoshop or anything like that, am pretty much a beginner and not at all technical. i just about manage picasa for basic fixes. :?
how can i be sure in future that my photographs are of a good enough quality to print.
miki, ye, its one of those pictures that no matter who you are, what your opinions are, what politics you hold, you cant help but get a message from.
dont worry, dont expect to get the wow any time soon, lol, but who knows some day, for now am just happy to enjoy it and hopefully learn.
john, i think one of the problems with email, blogs etc, is that sometimes its not easy to get the intention of the message across. anyone here who cant take constructive critizism probably shouldnt be here or should mark their photos as no critics please, lol. its easy i guess if you are unsure of yourself to take it personally, but dont worry, im a little bit thick skinned, and only cry if i really really have to.
the photos might not have great but at least they provided a bit of dialogue (this must be the most responses to a photo i’ve posted yet, lol
not at all john, dont worry about it. the whole point of posting here is to learn, and i wont do that if i cant take advice from others. as you said the whole point of documentry is to tell a story without the words and i didnt do that. i have loads to learn, all i know at the min is that i enjoy taking photos, do only some very basic editing with them as i dont have ps, but hopefully some day will manage to take one that will have someone here say wow!!!
sorry john, that will teach me not to try to be clever.
both are st tropez
pic one was depicting the painters, relaxed, enjoying life in a very simple way,
compared with pic two (the name of the boat is “our toy”)
the artists were very nice friendly people chatting away to people and happy to chat about their work (the lady in the hat was one of the artists)
the crew were waiting for the owners to land to board and were so far up themselves, and quite rude to people.
hi jess, just saw this post and feel sick. there are some very sad people out there. i have a thee year old westie, who i got about a ear and a half ago, and the eve we got him he was in a similar state to your boy. i had to take him to the groomer the following morning and have him shaved, took him t the vets for his jabs etc and she said he had probably never had any. now he is justa spoiled rotten dog, who sleeps on the end of my bed, sits on my knee if he doesnt get enough attention lol. ii hope your wee lad has recovered from this and is on the road to recovery. if he were stuck for a bed he could share mine with jock… well done you for caring enough to do something.
