Have you searched 500px for photographs of Ireland, to get ideas of places you might like? Bring gloves and scarf if your heading coastal, it’s getting colder here and our temperatures are colder than Londons most of the time, breezier too. I would point you in the direction of the Atlantic Way up to Donegal.
Rob, it’s not like me to not like your images, but to me, these are flat looking images. I see the layers in the images, but they don’t pop out as layers to me.
I gotta tell you that (for me) Dublin is a fairly bland city to photograph (unless your into street photography), there is so much vertical junk sticking up out of the ground, in front of historical facades. Grab this to plan your sunset/sunrises:http://photoephemeris.com/
I’m thinking you will need to head to somewhere out of the city in North County Dublin or South in County Wicklow to get a good sunrise on the East Coast. Even consider an excursion to the Copper Coast.
West coast should grant you some nice sunsets and around the dingle peninsula is nice for just that (bring Midges deterrent spray with you, they like eating photographers at sunset). When in Killarney check out http://www.petercox.ie/killarney-gallery Gallery. Might give you some idea of good shooting locations in Kerry.
