Usually it’s not a simple as A DEADLINE, if you think about it logically, any organisation has a limited amount of resources and they have to be allocated across the whole product.
For example if a paper has 30 pages and 10 editorial staff working on it, that’s three full pages per head in an 8 hour day. Every page cannot be left until “the deadline”, so what typically happens is that various pages are prioritised and given rolling deadlines throughout the day, and only a couple of pages are held open ’till the Actual Deadline. The reality is that the last pages will be held for the Latest / biggest stories and all others have a much earlier deadline.
Bottom line: Get the pictures in ASAP!

We stock this wheeled case: http://www.barkerphotographic.ie/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=2953&search=case which will hold light stands in a separate compartment to other gear (Lights etc.). As it has wheels and a telescopic handle, it’s easy to shift a lot of gear. As Steve mentioned, the only issue is lifting it in and out of a car.

Both kits have wireless triggering, The Bowens come with one wireless transmitter and one receiver (the second head works via it’s optical slave). The Elinchrom has two Receivers and One Transmitter, which also give full remote power control and have the option of controlling from a Computer, iPad, or iPhone (via an accessory adaptor).

Cokin have four different Filter sizes (and filter holders):
The A series (original) is not popular now as it is not suitable for bigger filter sizes.
The P Series is the most common one and works with most lenses – except Ultra wides.
The Z series is the same size as the LEE system, and filters do fit – KIND OF…. There is a risk of a filter dropping out the bottom, and the Big Stopper from Lee is designed to be a perfect fit in the first slot (of the LEE holder) to avoid stray reflections.
The X Series is even larger and is really only suitable for Medium and Large format cameras (And Broadcast Video camreas).

There isn’t a big difference in the cost of the Cokin Z and LEE holders, We sell the Cokin Z for €58.82 and the LEE holder for €76.24 (You will also need adapter rings to fit to your lens of course).

    You can check out the Lee filters here: http://www.barkerphotographic.ie/search.php?searchname=lee+filter” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false;

    Hi Conor,
We supply Elinchrom and Interfit brands of lighting. Interfit are the have options at the budget end of the scale for enthusiasts, while Elinchrom have several ranges from Enthusiast up to full blown Pro.
If you are confident you will alway have access to mains power, you will get a superb kit with change. If you won’t always have access to mains power (ie Environmental Portraiture), then Battery powered lights, like Elinchrom’s Ranger may be a good option.
I would definately only look at Flash, as it gives you far more control.
The Elinchrom BRX two head kit: http://www.barkerphotographic.ie/products.php?id=2628″ onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false; will only set you back €1,095 (Inc VAT) and and additional larger softbox is about €200, leaving plenty of room to consider backdrops, props or a Flash Meter.
A top quality (battery powered) flash kit, like the Elinchrom Ranger Quadra will set you back about €1,800; http://www.barkerphotographic.ie/products.php?id=103″ onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false; .
Having said all that, unless you are sure this is going to be an on-going business, I would start with something like and Elinchrom D-Lite 4RX kit which is €770, see: http://www.barkerphotographic.ie/products.php?id=2603″ onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false; . This kit will do everything you mentioned, and if you decide you want a full blown studio will be a great starting point to build on.
Please forgive the Hard sell on Elinchrom, it’s not the only brand out there, but it is the one of the two top brands (The Nikon or Canon) of Lighting world.
We would be delighted to discuss / show you all the options, if you want to give us a shout when we re-open on January 2nd.
