Great shot, very precise conversion. I also struggle with people in shots, probably feel that I am intruding.

Thanks for the kind comments, I think I may have found my subject matter at last !
ssheridan, I spot metered, 1/80 at f4 iso 800, quite a lot of noise as there was very little visable before conversion, in colour it looked dreadful so I did a conversion in Lightroom, my programme of choice at the moment. A photographer friend who introduced me to Lightroom suggested I print out of it, any thoughts?

Had to add this guy he was really great, I like the life times experience on his face. Tried these in colour but they just don’t work for me, comments if you like, I am going through a black and white phase.

Great shot, I am hooked on English seaside resorts, piers and fronts, I think this works well as it is, if it was a painting the painter wouldn’t have bothered to straighten and level everything, why does it bother photographers? probably because we can.

perfect shot! postcard stuff, if that’s not too insulting, I really like shots that work in an abstract way as well as figurative.

Like the red stone, I also would have liked a bit more foreground, also info on post production.

Thanks for your replys, it’s nice to know that there is someone out there! I think that my reasons for posting pice are really quite simple, if you show pics to friends or exhibit locally you usually get nice comments, not really what you want, it’s better to gt critiscism from people you don’t know even if it can seem a bit cruel at times.
