I like the lines and structures in no. 2.

No. 3 is suffering (slightly) from the dreaded converging verticals. The bright blue sky provides a powerful backdrop.

It’s certainly well produced. Experts in the filed might comment about the slight reflection from the top of the egg …

Personally, it’s definitely not my area: I want to draw a face on it!

It appears that the long exposure has caused streaking across the rainbow – that makes it look very unnatural. Now, I’m not against imaginative techniques and even unnatural effects, however in this case, the “streaks” across the rainbow are distracting. Hope this helps.

I notice a lot of price matching with WEX, Calumet and Jessops.

For larger stuff, I prefer to go to Calumet. For smaller stuff, Jessops or eBay.

Sometimes good deals on Amazon – with their great customer service they are usually a good bet – even for grey imports.

No. 2 is why I love photographing sporting events with kids – the devoted coach, the kids all with different expressions, the helper-out dad, the child giving his input – all of them focused on their passion. There are so many stories in this one image – gets the imagination going. Great!

This deserves a comment. I find there is a pleasant symmetry about the layers of the rocks, headland and the distant hills – provides a great sense of scale. I like the colours in the rocks – never remember Mizen head being pink – probably because it was always grey with rain any time I visited. Despite the time of day, the sky has some texture (maybe would have been better early or late in the day).

All in all, I like this one.
