Nice shot, very sharp. It’s difficult to get close enough to get a good shot

Here’s one I got on cliff off old Head last year

Thanks for the comments, I guess these shots prove I am not able to hold the 100-400L at the 400 end at 1/100 sec even with the IS.

some more but they are not any better.

I had airbrushed the shot (see enclosed), but decided to post the unedited shot. On the day I got lots of shots but unfortunately most had something distracting in the backgroung, mostly 4 legged pets barking at the deer. I guess Sunday is just not a good day for wildlife photographers in the park. I was very happy with the performance of the L-ense.

    Thanks for the comment.

I used a Canon 20D, with 100mm macro at 1/250 s F 5, iso 800, tripod and remote . The real trick is getting close with calm conditions and lots of light . As I said in an earlier post early morning, late evening or cold days are best to shoot these bugs as they are then a lot slower. Direct sunshine spoils the colours also. This one was taken in Lucan , Dublin at 7:30 am.

I like the daisey on the left. Possibly with some cropping it could provide a more defined focus point .

PS. I visited your website, some very nice photos of Mayo, particularly Nephin with the snow.
