Thanks for the comments all. Yes it is a HDR (I don’t own any ND grads :( ). 4 exposures processed in photomatix.

I think you did great! Looks way too good to be a first wedding!

I think they’re really nice. But I would tone down that orange a bit, even if it looked very close to that at the time. It just looks a bit oversaturated to me.

The OP’s question was a reasonable one. The lenses he mentioned could be classed as wide angle or not depending on the crop factor of his camera. A beginner would not be expected to know this, so it’s actually a good question for a beginners forum.

I’ve noticed over the years, firstly in music and more recently in photography, that often the people who seemingly have all the technical knowledge (or can copy and paste from the internet) don’t have the creativity or talent to back it up. Not saying this applies in this case of course.

Yeah, that Sigma 10-20 gets great reviews. It is very wide though so might take a bit of getting used to. You can get some cool effects shooting at 10mm though.

These would only be classed as wide angle on a full frame body, like a 5D etc. So it depends on your camera.

I would say don’t go over half way with either slider, especially with that (relatively) low ISO. Otherwise you can lose a lot of detail. Try it on a few shots, export them, and then zoom in and have a look. Adjust accordingly :)

Neither of these are Canon EF lenses :? :?:

Stand on the opposite side to the bride so you’re not getting the back or side of her head. It’s all about the bride!!

    Thanks for the comments everyone.

I agree, it looks too saturated to me looking at it again. I usually leave a shot a few days after processing and have a look at it with fresh eyes. You could keep tinkering at it all day but you have to say enough is enough at some point! I might try a B&W version too.
