Hehe, with a subject as popular as the causeway, some duplication is inevitable.

No Brian, I don’t think these are too dark at all. I think these are back up to your usual standard. Perhaps there is some brightness dropoff to the left hand side of the frame in the 1st and 3rd images. Were you using an angled grad by chance? The light in the second is wonderful.

Is this a rite of passage shot for every photographer?
No where as brilliant as yours two but oh well. Shot in blistering hot daylight.

Pardon me Brian if it feels like I am hijacking your thread by posting me picture here.
BTW, I like all 3 but no. 2 is the winner for me.

Lens sold to a nice guy. He is happy with it so this sale is closed. Cheers.

Thanks to everybody who PMed for the show of interest but the lens is now reserved. Going to meet with the potential buyer this Friday. As they say, the early bird gets the worm. Cheers.

Thread closed. Sorry if I jumped the gun on this advert (I tend to do that when I start panicking and thinking that the world is going to end). The good news is that I managed to get the shop to take the D60 back and give me a D300 instead (paid a bit more than I would have if it was done right the first time round, but it saved me all this trouble of selling the D60 and all). Thank you for all those who private messaged me. I will try to lock away my trigger happy fingers next time until I am 110% sure that I have actually something to sell.

Dang.. i forgot to mention that the set also comes with a nice nikon leather bag, exactly like this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Official-Nikon-Digital-Camera-Nikkor/dp/B0018QB7FM/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1218770867&sr=8-6

So, to summarise (finally), the set includes the following items:
    Nikon D60 body
    AF-S 18-55 VR lens
    4GB Lexar SDHC Card
    Nikon Leather Bag

I forgot to mention that this also comes with a 4GB Lexar Platinum II 60X SDHC card. Cheers.

If no one is interested, I’d most probably keep the set, chuck my compact camera aside and use this as my point and shoot (though it will be a pain to get this to fit in my pocket, literally) :D

Thanks for all the replies :D

Well, one option like what nfl-fan said is to get the 17-40 and also have along zoom like 70-200 to accompany it. But that means that I will be on a diet for the next month or so, until I recover from the financial blow of having photography as a hobby. But even then, b318isp, who has both of those lenses, still wants to get the 24-105. This is a very confusing time.

I suppose, as one of my mates told me, it all boils down on personal shooting style and preference. I have decided to borrow/beg/rent the 17-40 off a friend. If I find myself not yearning for the extra reach, I will just stick with it. :)
