For some reason i cant see the first photo but i really like the second one. Great expression on “model”. It is just a pity the flash crept into thephoto in the top RHS. You have obviously being reading strobist lighting 101.
sorry for the low offer but it was worth a try…
are you willing to move on €1200 for the camera, you can buy it new for 1300 (incl kit lense)…
I am interested in camera and kit lense plus the 70 – 300
not that interested in grip.
are you ever down mayo sligo direction so that i can have a look at the gear?
Well done both shots are good but i prefer the first one. Try burning out cloths on dark side so the the light vrs dark carries through to the body too. You could also try to turn model a bit but too late for that now!

Thanks Jenny. Maybe I did go a bit mad in Photoshop!
The apple had an umbrella to one side and I could not get reflector to brighten the opposite.
But I intend to try again soon.

I agree with Ballyman, with both top of head and hands missing it just doesnt work,
great eye contact, maybe a little over processed, pitty he wasn’t smiling.
It is often harder to take good photos of your own kids rather than some strangers kids, as you can be a little biased as to what are good shots Vrs Great shots(speaking from experience!!). also models seam to get fed up faster when dad is taking the shots!!.

It was actually quite easy, the background was a black sheet, with a set of christmas lights clipped on with cloths pegs. Keep Model as far a possible from the background, my girls were about 10 feet (at least) then shoot away
Thanks for your comments. I really need to keep checking on the need to add in a reflector and to check my composition as my photoshoots are underway.
