Isn’t that one just using a normal headphone jack? if you cut it off some old headphones and solder a switch to it, that might be the cheapest way to go… http://www.doc-diy.net/photo/eos_wired_remote/
I started using it ages ago… but then kinda forgot about it. I just checked and apparently 3 of my 4 images are on Google earth… http://www.panoramio.com/user/266367
I don’t have Google Earth where I am at the moment, so I can’t check. But it seems a good way to get lots of hits.
I wouldn’t know which one to get, but I’d recommend NOT getting Practical Photography. It’s a god mag (I actually have a subscription) but there wouldn’t be much useful info for a semi-pro.
It’s a bit entry-level all together, even for me and I’m not even quarter- or eighth-pro :)
I know… thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s ox… but that iMac sure triggers my SES! (shiny equipment syndrome).
Nice one!
I still have to work on my puny 13-inch macbook, since my macbook pro got stolen. :(
You’re right, unfortunately the sky is blown out… completely :(
So I gave it a few minutes in Photoshop. Not my bestest work ever… but I’m not going to spend more time on that pic.
1 is nice, but I also prefer 2. I like it that not also do you have the lead-in line but also included the ring in the pic. If the foreground were more in focus, it’d be brilliant.
If you’re looking for cheap I can recommend this lens http://www.tamron.com/lenses/prod/70300_di_a017.asp
It’s given me quite good results and also doubles as a pretty decent macro lens.
Check out the paintball and (most) macro shots on my flickr, they’ve all been taken with this one.
I’ve had it for nearly 3 years and so far didn’t feel the need to upgrade to anything more expensive… the focus can be a bit slow, but if it’s fast enough for paintball, I guess it’s fast enough for any other sport.
