I didn’t mention in my initial post that I will be purchasing the Nikon D300 as well, granted, it’s probably going to be a steep and frustrating learning curve, but I’d rather grow into a camera, than be limited by its functionality.
The above photo was taken with a Nikon D40x & a 200mm lense. 1/650 ss, ISO 100, F11, focal length 200mm.
I think I’ve reached the limits of what it can do. Besides I was late returning the camera to my college photo lab and now the boss is pissed off with me; he mightn’t let me borrow it anymore.
It’s time I bought my first SLR.
The exchange rate for pounds sterling and Euros means I could get a reasonable deal in the North for a D300-compared to Dublin where the body requires a whopping 2k.
I’ve an interview with Inpho on Monday about a possible work placement and I need to bring prints. Last place I tried, Harvey Normans cut the top of my image and ruined it basically. None of the images I have are as they were, they’ve all been cropped a little bit, what’s the best way to lay them out so they’ll be printed properly? Put them into an A4 document and resize the image to fit?
Also anybody recommend anywhere to get prints done? properly? :)
I’m probably stating the obvious here but Reads of Nassau street is one of the best. but printing photos there is not very hands on, an attendent does all the work.
There’s also a place called ISS, http://www.imagesupplysystems.com, Image Housee, Liberty Lane, Camden Row, Dublin 8. Tel: 01 4782520, Michael Maher knows his stuff.
