    Pete, such things have been, and are, accepted as being part of the charm of Connemara. I once read a travel book in which the over-enthusiastic author described the Connemara rain as “benign”; I always found it to be wetting.

    Peter- Taking this earlier in the year I was undecided about concentrating on the scenic or historic aspect and you’ve confirmed my mistake of including both. Thanks for the comment.
    p.s. Yes, it’s well worth a visit if you’re down that way as it is a very nice location as well as being historic.

    Ben, I think both the diagonal and straightened versions have their merits but most impressive to me was the originality of the approach to a very interesting subject.

    Super! This proves the point of the old adage “Always carry your camera” and certainly on this occasion you were ready for a unique opportunity. And well done to get such a sharp picture in what was no doubt a situation calling for haste and furtiveness.
