    Thanks folks – very constructive.

I’m working with iPhoto – I should probably look into more sophisticated processing suites.

I also was betwixt and between the dandelion – I liked the splash of colour it gave but it is distracting to the eye.

    Thanks Tex

I re-cropped and I see exactly what you mean – its as if the higher plane of the horizon moves your eye into the picture, rather than the flat image presented with the horizon halfway down the shot. Again cheers for the guidance.

I like them both, especially the first one. Looks like you were painting with light.

    Thanks for the comment connie.

I must go back and look at the crop on 3 and also review 2 again – I think my original did have more of the head in frame, but I cropped in.

    Thanks again.

I really like the last one – the gargoyle looks as if he is focused on the Eiffel tower. Nice lines !

disclaimer : I am an enthusiast with no real experience or technical expertise.

That said, I like the shot a lot. The composition is such that my eye is drawn in towards the car and on down the road and the hazy light effects add to it.

I like your shot a lot – I’m not in any way to comment on the technical merits, but the sky in the first shot seems more tasty (dramatic) to me and I particularly like that aspect of the shot).

I comment on your pic mostly because I work in the building and your shot really speaks to me – I think you nailed the character (austere, severe, still has personality, drama).

Again, I really enjoyed your shot. And I preferred the first one.
