I agree – I had a very similar experience with a D70s and a Sandisk Ultra II CF card, sidelined it and never had another problem.

    I have a D300 and haven’t had any issues

I have to say they’re excellent, makes me realise what cheap thrash is thrown in with your kiloeuro camera.

Very comfortable to wear, the quick release is very handy when you want to use your camera on a tripod

…..or change colours to match your outfit………. :D

The general public will see Photography Ireland on it and think you’re working for a big agency.

C’mon don’t leave Mark stuck with a load of these after he going to all the rounds of getting them.

Cian – thanks for the reply but I think your price would a bit too much for me if you did decide to sell it.

I believe I could get a new one from from HK for less.

Thanks Crowded House. Hope you’re not suffering from ‘four seasons in one day’ today :D

I’m following up with Technikdirekt as their info on the Nikon scanners just says compatible with Windows. I’m on a Mac so I’ll see what they say.

    Dave

Download and have a look at the user manual here, don’t think you have to be registered, definitely come with MAC software.

I wouldn’t envy you having to scan that much film though….

There is an APS adapter available for the Nikon Coolscan range of Scanners.
Just checked on Technikdirekt – its ?230 plus the cost of the scanner itself ?660

You could probably sell the scanner easily enough when finished with it.

ah i see, yeah they were what i was looking at mainly. i was planning on getting the 80 – 200vr…hummm. best read up on the specs for these cams i guess

If you mean the 18-200VR it wont work with any Nikon film body(unless you want circular pics)

The F80 can be picked up reasonable S/H on eBay,will do everything you need.
    (I got one with a faulty built in flash,which wasn’t a prob for me,for ?43)

Was looking at the Nikon 80-200 F2.8 not the AF-S one though.
Unfortunately not being AF-S it won’t work with the teleconverters, ie TC-14 etc…

    Mark

I would like one of these too.

I had a loan of one for a short while, zooming out to 200 with out the aperture changing is a great novelty !

It’s heavy though wouldn’t fancy bringing it on a walk about for a few hours.

Hard for me to justify after just getting a Nikkor 18-200

Also have an itching for a Nikkor 12-24,not sure if I’d use it enough.
