    Hi Angela,
I like no.1, nice sky & waves in the sea
I agree with other comments on rotating/cropping 2&3 to level the horizon but I feel a lot of detail left & right would be lost, unfortunately
    Cheers,
    Joe

    Hi Angela,
I have not replied to posts in this forum for a while :(
The edited version is overcooked imo
All the original needs is a slight boost in contrast & a little sharpening
Some foreground interest e.g flowers, rock, fencepost etc in the bottom left of the pic. would have greately improved the shot
    Cheers,
Joe (a neighbour from Tralee) :)

    oh i wasnt aware of it, that it is new? i would pass and ignore it or is there another one? i remember that there already was a wreck? i like it but i would watch the cyan sky ( ;

    Cheers

Thanks for your reply Madeline. There was an article & photo about this wreck in Kerrys Eye newspaper on Feb. 12th last. It listed the names of ships that sank off Rossbeigh in the past 100 years & the year in which they sank. My understanding from the article is that this wreck was uncovered recently when a large area of sand dunes were also washed out to sea. Regards, Daff

Is this what you were after?

(Just cut and paste the URL from your personal gallery between the IMG here!)

PS I’m with Mark on this – get back there and shoot it from all angles – it’s a lovely subject, and your post is good!

Thanks, Kenh, for your advice. Regards, Daff

Everything seems very calm and surrene in the foreground but I think this calmness is interupted with the heavy liughts in the background.
I like the dark area at the top. Very tempting to crop it out but I think it adds to the shot leaving it in. Kind of frames the action nicely.

Thanks Brian. I agree about the powerful lights in the background. I increased/decreased AV to tone down the lights to give a “star” effect, to no avail. Any suggestions on which AV/ISO is best to achieve this effect. Regards, Joe.

Thanks all for the feedback, I don’t mind at all joe, I was hoping someone would be able to shed some light on how to improve the noise in the sky, any tips on how you did it? I’ve only started using photoshop about 3 weeks ago so its new to me and I’m trying to learn how best to use it.

    sharon

Glad to help Sharon. I have Photoshop CS3 Extended & rarely use it for noise reduction. For your pic. I used Noisware Community Edition which you can download for free from http://www.imagenomic.com/nwsa.aspx. Search the downloads & you will see the free “Noiseware Community Edition Standalone”. I find it brilliant as when you import your pic. it recognises the noise levels, click on “go” & noise disappears in seconds. Click on the pic. to see the original noise, unclick, no noise. P.S. dont forget to save the image. It will be saved in your folder as

filtered. You should give it a try. Cheers, Joe.

Thank you for your comment Joe, I used two filters on these, an Enhancement and a Circ. Polorizer combined.

Nice shot & B&W works well. The sky is noisy & as your edit box is ticked “Yes”, I had a little play. I hope you dont mind. Joe.

The nicest sunrise shot I have seen in a while. Yer man makes it for me. Frame it big & hang it on a wall. Joe

Nice set. The last one is my fav. Did you use ND Grad filters. I like the star effect from the sun in the 2nd. Joe

This is a lovely pic. of a lovely place. I love the colours esp. the vivid blue in the sky. You achieved good dof with an aperture value of f5.6. The shot would be much better if there was foreground interest e.g a rock, lobster pot, small boat etc. on the beach at the bottom of the pic. Well done. Joe

Nice capture. Well done. A salmon leaping in the salmon run would have been a fantastic addition, however all is not possible at times. Cheers, daff.

I agree with derrycity & Big Fella, more of the water on the left could be included & a slower shutter speed would improve the pic. Cheers, daff.
