“Firstly, its blatant exploitation of women is tasteless and base, and quite simply unacceptable. Irish rugby has a strong family focus and would not tolerate any connection with such an approach.
“Secondly, the claim that the product is a ‘Proud Sponsor of Irish Rugby’ implies that the company is a significant sponsor of the game in this country, through the IRFU. This is absolutely untrue and a cynical ploy in an attempt to capitalise on the popularity of the game.
“By doing so, it has the potential to undermine the legitimate claims of the many genuine sponsors and supporters of Irish rugby whose investment has been a key element in the success of rugby at grassroots level throughout the country, and of our provincial and national squads.
“In addition to pursuing the immediate withdrawal of the campaign through legal means, we are also writing to the Advertising Standards Authority of Ireland bringing to their attention the misleading claims.
“We would hope that the management of Largo Foods would withdraw the campaign immediately.”
Hope all goes well at the weekend and at Ravenhill. Heading for Thomond at the weekend for a feast of rugby. Munster A Vs Ulster Ravens at 3.30 and Munster V Ospreys at 6.30 – hopefully I can get a few decent shots.
Some excellent shots. Love the action and the expressions. It might help to straighten them a bit, especially the try – looks like he had the hill with him.
I really like the concept, and the expressions are great. I’m not a fan of the post-processing effect you’ve applied. I think it’s unnecessary and takes away from an otherwise excellent image.

I’m not sure I agree. It would not work on an adult image but it adds a kind of fantasy style to the image that works well with a child.
I’d be happy with the exposure and the sharpness etc. Don’t know if I’d class this as technical or pose, but in all three images some part of the girls is being cut off, the shoes in the second one for example or the elbow in the third.
Nice family shots.
When I saw the title “Ross Castle” I thought to myself “not another one” and almost didn’t bother to look. Living in Kerry, everybody around here has their own Ross Castle image. This, however, stands out. Great colours and sky and the HDR was handled perfectly. Excellent image (once you straighten it a bit).
Maybe it’s my connection. I hit the link but when I had only about two inches of the image after about a minute I gave up waiting. you would be better off learngin how to post the image if you want people to comment.
Interesting what you can get from a compact, lovely deep view into this image, different time of day would make this a much better image, ie sunrise or sunset.
I shall be heading back there this summer with my slr !!!!! and all my gear so hopefully i can get a way better shot . :)
Very hard to get a good shot of Ladies View. Sunrise or sunset don’t work too well there because of the mountains on all sides.
I like it too for all the reasons the others have given.
Don’t know if it would improve it much but if it were my image I’d at least play around with a crop – cut a bit of the top and the bottom and take a bit off the left too as the surfers are maybe a little too close to the centre of the image – the good old rule of the thirds. It might make it too “safe”.
Good shot, glad you didn’t delete it and that you decided to share it with us. Hopefully the first of many.
If I’m on a “shoot” I wear daily disposable contact lenses, but if it’s just a case of pulling the camera out of the boot of the car for a couple of shots then I wear my glasses.
Most SLRs allow you make an adjustment for eyesight – the little knob on the eyepiece – adjust that until the readout in the viewfinder looks sharp.
