Jenny, like the other comments I wouldn’t be too keen on the processing that was used for this image. The composition of it is great and I really really like it. But as you said yourself you were experimenting and it is all about trial and error :)
If I were to attempt it I would maybe try and light the models face a little bit more. The tulle from the dress/tutu could have been cropped out or cloned out using PS or something similar. As a composition I think it is good.
the B&W conversion is fine and her eyes are pin sharp (to me anyway) but the pose doesn’t work for me. Her mouth looks very stern and I think that to have her far hand come across to her shoulder would have added a nice touch.
This is a fantastic fantastic portrait. Like monochrome said the positioning of the hands is great and the overall feel to the image is lovely and soft. A great shot!
I don’t expect revenue to be very high for the first couple of months/years as I will doing this alongside my “proper” job. I have too many financial commitments to delve into Photography on a full time basis.
I will go check with Revenue.ie and see if my cousin, I think she is an accountant, can help me out too!
Post Processing was done in Lightroom 4. I know this is a terrible thing to say but I can’t actually remember what it is exactly I done. I was using trial and error on these ones.
I think this is a great image. I do have to somewhat agree about the cigarette but it is not ruining it for me! Would be great to compare the one with and withou the cigarette and see! But very well done!
Sorry for the delay in replying Isabella – I did actually try it to the left but for some reason I was a bit more drawn to it from the right side!
The logo’s are just there for my own sake, not intended to be part of the image.. although I have been toying with different designs and themes for my own website recently, I think I have settled for a theme and look.. which doesn’t include the above logo
