I will take this in consderation for the next time. I know, #3 is very blue-ish, it was on the Street Performing festival on Merrion square. I didn’t manage to cut out people completely, as soon as you think you got a good sight onto a subject, someone walks into the scene. Annoying!
#1, he was lighting a cigarette,it was hard enough for me to ask whether I could take a photo of him and mostly asking makes people be aware what;s gonna happen n they might behave different, trying to look in the camera or even sing into the camera as it it was a tourist pic being taken. I told him to just behave normal and do what he normally does…
#2 turned out nice, it’s a neighbour of ours with his dog. I took the pic in colour, but then edited it to b/w as it looked nicer and ore dramatic with a bit contrast.

If you live near the Swords-Malahide estuary maybe you would like to
join up with Swords Photo Grooup. We will be starting our regular meetings
again in September and you are more than welcome to come along (as is
anyone in the Swords general area).
There is a wide range of skills, abilities and equipment in the club.
Or drop out to our exhibition at the end of july. Details below

Never knew there was something like that in Swords…,
Yeh maybe it would be handy to have a look, but where is that, Ballyboughal is far out from Swords…so where do yous do your normal meetings? Also there? If so, this could be apublic transport related little problem. *shoulderstwitch*
Ha, Danny don’t worry, I was the same when I first heard of it.
It’s when you combine 2 or more images to prevent some parts being to bright (over exposed) and others too dark (under exposed). Each image must be take from the same point, so tripod is handy to prevent mving the camera.
The software is used to blend them.
Ok well might have hard of it, people get amazing pics out in the end, seen sum pics on Flickr I think. But I didn’t use any whatsoever. Was just on the way back home along the estuary and the sunset reflected in that sleek water surface i had to get my cam out (I always carry my cam with me when I go out, you never know and now I see again why it is handy). Dosn’t carry my tripod round tho, dunno whether it fits in my bad even if you fold it as small as possible)
I was just asking about any advice as I don’t know too much myself how to make most of my shot. I normally use the auto modes like well the normal one or night mode, sunset mode…don’t get along understanding shutter speed and exposure stuff. I do have a book bout digital photography, but I am rather a practical than a theoretical learner….
Wow they are amazing… did you use HDR processing? if I may ask…
cheers
a.
What is HDR Processing? I am the most stupid of all camera users, just set it to sunset mode and presed the shutter button, There quite a few among them that turned out crap! I don’t have much of a clue of the technical stuff…unfortunately
it’s hard to do and even when taking the picture you can’t zoom to much, as you wouldn’t get all the boats on the pic, I don’t have a SLR Cam which might have the possibility to attach such kinda lense that would catch the whole width *shoulderstwitch*
But anyway, constructive critics is always much appreciated…
