Have decided to go with Dell U2312HM monitors as I can’t seem to get LG IPS231P monitors.
It got a pretty good review on tftcentral – http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u2312hm.htm” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false; with a calibrated dE of 0.3, not quite as good as some of NEC monitors which have a dE of 0.2 but for €171, it nearly half the price of the equivalent monitors
Has anybody got any experience with the Dell U2412H or the U2410?
The U2410 is €200 more expensive than the U2141H and not sure if it is work the extra €200 especially when I am buying 3 of them.
The monitors will be for my desktop machine, it currently has 2 x 19″ CRT attached to 2 different graphics cards, so I can assign profiles to each head (card+monitor).
The IPS panels will be replacing my CRTs which are getting very old and are very bulky but have been very accurate when I have been printing on my setup.
I was looking in the under €300 price range, if I had the money, I’d buy the top of the line NEC monitors but I don’t have the money and I want 3 monitors to replace my old CRT setup
I put 4 rolls of 120 (645) into Photocare last week as my processor is currently broken.
Got them back on Friday and they were prefect, no scratches and cut perfectly but at €34 for 4 rolls, I’ll be fixing my processor and going back to DIY E-6
I see the magneta cast on the left one. Is the temperature critical for all the washes and all baths? Ilford’s instructions are minimal.
There seems to be a lot less contrast in the one by BDP, did they use a contrast mask?
If anybody is interested I have put a step by step guide for E-6 dev using the Kodak 6 bath kit at http://www.offshoot.ie/tutorials/57-film/61-e-6″ onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false;
Measurements are based on Jobo drums but I have include all ratios
they are called Photocare.
The problem I have heard from a few people is that their dev machine uses rollers which can scratch the tranny which hasn’t happen for any of my trannies they have done.
Repro used a different machine that pulled the film as far as I have been told.
I think Photocare can’t do 4×5 development but this won’t be a problem for a lot of people.
I have used Photocare for E-6 development.
They are ok, never had any issues with any of my trannies from them but they are getting to expensive at €8.50 for a roll of 120.
It is getting to cheaper to do it at home when the Kodak E-6 kit costs €25 from Gunns and it can do about 20 rolls.
Hi,
thank you for all of the assitance.
Was back in Gunns yesterday and Louise gave me some hypo from her darkroom that will be enough for another session
She also gave me a box of 20×24″ ilfochrome paper worth about €300 for free that she had lying around her darkroom after showing her my first ilfochrome print.
It is fantastic that we have a shop like Gunns where they are interested, knowledgable and so helpful about photography
Martin I’ll send you a pm with my address
Damien,
I’ve never got the multiple crop function working in VueScan, just doing frame by frame but would be interested to know how to do the multiple crops.
Let us know if figure out an easy way to do it.
