I have one which I will sell at the right price. It was previously advertised for sale here but I never got the money I wanted for it. The one listed on Birmingham’s is not a VR model.
If you have your camera set up to auto focus with AF-ON then VR will only work when you press the shutter button. If you haven’t changed the AF setup on your camera then it will autofocus and shoot with the shutter button.

I use the Tokina 12-24 f/4 for my landscape work. I’ve always been very happy with the results from it and it’s a hell of a lot cheaper than the Nikon equivalent but does not look/feel cheap. It’s probably not the best for mountain biking as you would need to be very, very close but the Nikon 50mm f/1.8 might be a good option for this. Only letdown for this lens, is the slow AF but I guess for mountain biking you can prefocus on an area.
