The “off-centre” composition happened because i made a balls of the timing, I was actually trying to centre the bike in the photo.

They are savage, that corner on the first stage was difficult lighting to shoot motorsport. The head-on shots are crystal clear.

Sound, thanks for the advice. i could hear the servo tracking the cars in discreet steps rather than continuously. Must try AF-C next time…

Jaysus they’re savage. That’s the kind of stuff i aspire to. I suppose you’re using a Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8 D or similar?

Thanks for the comments guys, very helpful. Certainly the F8ish aperture would help with the sharpness. Regarding the tape obstructing the shot, it’s a case of being more careful with teh vantage points…or getting myself a ‘Press’ bib!!
