As a general observation for people shooting, I’d make sure in the future you shoot as wide open as possible, the most effective Street Photos is when you focus only on the subjects. It is a rule I try obey as much as I can.

The Joyce Spire is a great concept, but you need a way wider lens to achieve it.

Suggestion go try a roll on apeture priority set to wide open and snipe people – you need to get close as possible too, I use a fixed prime for pre-focussing and generally try to get within 2metres of the subject. set yourself this task for a day alone and check your results. it is good discipline.

    hope this helps. ….

ps the roll thing –old habit as I use film..but I am sure you know what I meant

    My two pennies worth:

Interesting thread on peoples views on MF cameras. I think ultimately you settle where you can. I am finding more and more 6×6 is just delightful in so many ways for composition. I’ve seen one of those C330’s , felt great in the hand. You can change lens on them I believe, the only TLR you can I believe. I use minolta Autocords myself — find them the sharpest lens going ( aside from big bucks Rollei’s And Hasselblads with Carl Zeiss lens) . Get on with mint glass and wow!

For anyone starting and wanting a cheap feel for 6×6 and like the holga quality, get a bargain basement Zeiss Ikon Nettar Folder or a Agfa Isolette 1,2 or 3 ( if it has a skopar lens the reultas are great. and they fit in a coat pocket with your light meter in the other. Someone made the point about you’ll eventually end up at 10×8 …. there is a certain gravity of curiosity about Large Format that is inevitable, he was bang on, it is like a slow undertow or siren song.
