You might have finished your assignment by now, but a few suggestions below for your written brief:
Why did you choose the subject?
How did you investigate how it could be done?
Did you find any difficulties carrying out the assignment?
What went well?
What could you improve?
By answering these questions, and writing them down, you will document your learning experience.
If you would consider distance learning, you could look into the Open College of the Arts, http://www.oca-uk.com” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false;
You can study up to a BA in Photography there. The courses are written by Michael Freeman, and you get a tutor who comments on your assignments.

They are all great, and I particularly like the staring lion. How would it look to crop the lion, showing only the face? Maybe it would look even more intense?
Im looking in book about Photoshop and it says something about Adobe Gamma to calibrate the monitor. But is this only for older versions of Elements? I have Elements 7. Do I actually have to buy a programme to have my screen calibrated? Any advice appreciated!
Sorry to hear that Sorcha. The job market has unfortunately changed now for most jobs, and they would have loads of applicants. It was probably different before. But keep the good spirit up. :)
I am studying at the Open College of the Arts, doing a distance learning course called The art of photography. http://www.oca-uk.com/distance-learning/photography-1-art-of-photography
It could lead to a degree if you wish, or you can study the courses individuallly. I was a complete beginner when I started and knew nothing about aperture and shutter speed. I am now nearly at the end of the course and it has enriched my life so much.
Thanks Sean. Yes it may look a bit out of focus. It was handheld. The focal length is shorter than shutter speed, see below. Would shorter shutter speed have looked better then?
Focal Length: 55mm
Exposure Mode: Manual
Metering Mode: Multi-Pattern
1/100 sec – F/5.6
Exposure Comp.: 0 EV
Sensitivity: ISO 200
