Hey Guys. Wow. Thanks for the comments. Didn’t expect that sort of reaction from this.
As far as equipment goes. I rented a camera from the company we went diving with. All I know it that it had 8Million Pixels. After that I didn’t really take any notice because it was all they had on offer. I checked their website earlier on to find out for sure but I couldn’t find the infor.
Most of the pictures came out badly. Its so hard to get good pictures because you can’t see through the viewfinder with your mask and the waterproof casing. And on top of that the light is bad and the fish don’t really hang about, so I was glad to get one that I could be happy with.
Thanks for the comment. I tried to mono it, but it just took away from everything, because i like the rest of the colours, the red jacket does dominate the picture though. If only he was wearing something a little darker like brown or navy, it would fit the picture better, but i can’t tell people what to wear unfortunatley!
These were the settings for it. Excuse my lack of jargon i am only new. Exposure time 4 seconds. ISO 100. f/11 and nope its now RAW. Havent shot RAW with my camera yet. Here is another a took with 0.5 second exposure time.
Thanks squ1d. Its on the bray to greystones road up a sort of slip road where there are a couple of houses dotted around. I only spotted it by chance had never even noticed it before but im glad i did.
It certainly does. I took a couple of pics of this and I pointed up but I just didn’t like it for some reason. I strangely preferred this one. I know what you mean about there being too much black and I only noticed it after I posted it. Haha i just tried cropping and that didnt even help. I think this one is a total lost cause. I still got some good shots from the walk home today so all is not lost. Thanks for the advice bout the Rule of Thirds. never heard of it before so ill look into it.
I like it squ1d. One thing I think takes away from the scene that you have captured is the sun. I thinks its too bright. But on ther other hand that sort of adds to the image so I am not really sure where i stand with it. If the sun was less imposing in where it is present i think the pic wud improve. I cud be very wrong tho.
They are only houses, nothing fancy so they would have ruined the picture IMO. Thanks for the comments all. It was worth the hour walk for this shot methinks.
I felt that too much detail in the foreground would take away from the amazing sky, which is what the photo is all about. The foreground sort of acts as a contrast to it. well that was my intention anyway.
I am not even sure what i did to make it look like this. Added contrast, hues and colour saturation if i remember correctly but to what extent and in what order is beyond me. It is a little hard on the eyes alright but thats what makes it different I guess. Thanks for the comments tho
It made a big differnce alright. Thanks coz I never would have thought of. Its all a learning curve. Only been taking photos with a proper camera since christmas day but i am pretty hooked already gonna keep experimenting with different things and get advice(like yours) from here. I love this forum its addictive. Thanks again
