You could also bring it to a percision engineers to see if they have a tap to correct the damaged threads.

thanks for all the replies. The blue light is actually the telly in the background. I’ll have another go with the tripod and see what happens.

I’ve used an online place called printerpix.co.uk before. It’s not too bad.

Thanks a mill for the tips.

Keeping it open at 1.8 to get as much light in. Sure i’ll probably end up using the flash which means the background will be out of range so a shallow depth of field isn’t a bad thing.

Is 800 considered high iso? I know my D3100 goes to 3200 but I find anything higher than 800 gets a little noisy.

The bad news is I only have the built in flash.

I only have my Nikon 50 1.8 for a few days now and I must say I’m very impressed. It’s just so small light and nimble you don’t really miss having a zoom ring. Now it did take me the guts of an hour shooting with it to get used to it. What I like is that it makes me work a bit more. Leaning over desks to get the shot was new compared to just turning a ring.

You’re probably in the same situation as me a few weeks ago. 35mm or 50mm. Well what swayed me to the 50 was the fact it is compatible with a full sensor should i ever upgrade. Another reason was trying out on my kit lens (18-55) 35mm and 50mm. I found that the 50mm was more to my liking and I could comfortably shoot two-eyed.

Anyway here was my first day with it

I’m no expert but the way i understand it. Exposure is the amount of light captured.

Exposure is a juggle of three things. ISO , Aperture and Shutter speed.
