A wide angle zoom would be a good starter, 10-20mm zoom. You should be able to pick up a Sigma or Tokina (Nikon fit) second hand.
I take a lot of seascapes and use my Sigma 10-20 a lot. Berminghams regularly have them for sale, or you might find someone on this site looking to sell one.

I like the overall tones. Maybe if there was a bit more detail in the shadow areas. I love the shape of the rocks. Was that out in Red Rock. I wouldn’t mind paying it a visit.
Have you considered Kelby Training. They do on line training in photography as well as photoshop. I’ve only seen clips on U tube, but they seem good. I don’t know the pricing, but you can check out the link http://kelbytraining.com/live/” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false;
I’ve just left a Sigma 10-20 in for repair through Conns Cameras ( it went for a swim in a rock pool!). The send it to Hahnel in Bandon, Cork, who are the agents. Haven’t got a quote yet, but it was only last week.
It’s a great old boat, full of texture. But there’s too much distraction with the other boats and the poles and wires. It looks like you shot this from a standing position. I think it would work better taken from a different position and at a lower angle to just have the sky as a back drop.
Just my tuppence worth.
