I got one mostly for my camera the 1d it eats batteries for fun quantum will shoot 750 raws with the 1d .

i got a second hand 1d2 it shoots about 1200 from one battery.

I have the 550 flash which does not recycle that fast quantum is good but bulky I used it all last year for rallying clipped to my belt break u ribs climbing over things.

Good for the flash over all if u flashing a lot .

Handy to have rechargeables I always found way too slow had 2800.

if u need fairley bang bang delay bang its good maybe a 580 would held

It was ok I should have gone up the top , it was a pity there was no corner proper bend like Dungarvan hill. It was good and good for the club. Dean in the drift car seemed to be very on and off the power but the car has serious grunt. I went to a few drift meetings but the photographers at them nearly die if they see another photographer comming in, met that in Raceway but know Mick Barry for years so they could not throw me out. Then the organisers at Watergrass hill 2 years ago refused me entry onto the track could shoot from the top but not down on the track, however a friend of mine went to the one in Ennis and said the organisers were most helpfull and he had a most enjoyable on track day.

U drift pics are nice I love in focus pics I would say that is my style all the panning drives me nuts pics are either in focus or out and panning does no always work and sometimes the pics look like shit.

The press officer said go to the teleporter but was up at the other bend himself figure that out did u get the mini bouncing into the air and the escort going off.

i gave it one touch of sharpness in photoshop I give most of them just the one touch but its fairley right straight out of the camera.

I think they are either in or out and I find sharpening something thats really out looks strange after or mabe i do not know how to do it right !!!

I would say safety and using u loaf is everything.

Close off a quiet piece of road I have been to few rally shakedowns over the years on roads that were not offically closed
get u friends out and get them to close off extreamly quiet road with no houses on it .

Do it early in the morning block the road at each end with cars and person in a luminous jacket if someone arrives phone everyone clear the road be polite tell the person u shooting a commercial an add for a magazine could they wait 2 mins to clear the road clear it straight away .let them through check the road again and away u go.

U can be done for obstructing traffic thats about it I think !!!!!!!.

Safety is paramount there must be no danger of anyone entering the road any accident and u goosed insurance will not cover u if they find out what u are up to.

i could keep them comming for the rest of the year but I am really interested in maybe what non motorsport people thing of them ,i joined some camera clubs and entered some competitions etc and heard such stupid comments I just had to go.

In fact a friend of mine went to Finland and got a massive pic of Markko martin in the Focus so high u could walk in under it a friend of his said lets join the local camera club ,They had a so called expert in the night he went down and the expert was commenting on the pics and came to my friends one and said this is trick photography using photoshop to enhance the height of the car. My friend said no its straight out of the camera but expert kept saying photoshop and all the mups in the camera club seemed to believe the bluffing expert.

Blurred out pics is the most over used thing in motorsport. Get it right and its magic get it wrong and it just looks like u f ed up the pic.

    Thats my point

the first one is by far the best pic fills the frame in focus nice colours on the bike u can see the bales so u know its not a local mup comming round a corner on a road bike

the rider also looks like he is working hard on the bike people will tell u should slow u speed and have a slightly blurred image CRAP its a perfect sharp image and everyone one knows the rider is working hard.

    Well done
