    Hi Frank,

I really love night shots and these are really nice.

As you’re a Dun Laoghaire local and an obvious fan of low light shots I’d really appreciate your opinion of the picture I posted under ‘First Post’ in the Architecture / Urban section. Thanks…

I really like it – something very moody and old about it.

    Hi Gfox,
Took this ages ago on my old Fuji s9500z. Didn’t have CS2 at the time so used Picassa to convert to b+w, added a graduated tint to the sky and adjusted highlights and shadows slightly.

Bit of background: My wife had gotten me a balloon ride as a present. This photo was taken then. It was a fabulous evening in May of ’06. This photo was taken about 15 feet above a freshly ploughed field just outside Kilmessan.

    Hi Gfox,

Thanks for my first ever critigue. Had a look through your phots on Flickr (really must get on there some day) and was well impressed. Specially like some of the B+Ws. Also spotted the Tulip pictures – obviously passed through Moneygall earlier in the summer ??

I have to agree. The whole left to right thing does look more astetically cleaner but I still prefer the lead in fro the right. It just doesn’t fell 100% correct for reasons that aren’t immediately apparent – I like this cause it makes you stop and consider the image longer. It’s nice to break with conformity….
