    Thanks for the reply…

Tried a few more things this morning..but am sending it in now for repair, its going to Camden Row in Dublin..they gave me the details from Canon.

Hope it won’t be too costly.

Hi Thanks so much but I already got sorted,

    I got a great deal on a 40 d plus 28-135 mm lens.

Still need some extra bits so may be interested in the flash, battery grip and some filters..would you have a 72 mm polarizing filter or a bag? :D

Pm me if you are interested in selling some bits separately

Thanks so much for your replies!

Party coming up soon enough, but just before I have chance to practice, a friend has asked me to take photos tonight at her Irish Dancing class, and some may go to the local paper

I am figuring I will be asked to do a group shot at some stage, so after much googling I am guessing I need to be shooting at my smallest aperture setting which is f8, getting the group as close together as poss , and focusing mid way?? and using a tripod??

    Help

Also capturing moving shots of dancing .., continuos Auto Focus, shutter priority?

Please let me know if I am the right track.

I find the more you google and look up the more useless you feel

Stephen, thankyou so much for taking the time to reply.

My new flash arrived today so I am going to have a mess around and get used to it.

I have never shot in RAW mode before and it sounds terryfing  a really dumb question why would shooting in RAW help the light balance?

Definately going to try going Manual then!!

Yikes I am nervous, I am definately happier shooting non moving objects outside in nice light!

Will definately check out you tube for more info

    Thanks again.

Maybe you can be my PS guru!!!

Getting married next year and going to do all the processing of the pics ourselves , so I have to be spot on in PS by then!

    Thankyou!!

Well all batteries charged and ready to go on Monday Morning. I am caught between wanting to practice my new found knowledge and not messing up

the family shots.!! Husband suggested taking a pic in Auto first before I mess with setting..maybe not such a bad idea!!

Mustn’t forget to get one with me in it!!

Any one have any last minute tips for every day shooting settings / modes / night time pics?
