Thanks for the replies, yes, I can appreciate how insulting i would appear to your profession..I did tell my younger sibling of my plan last yr n what a laugh was had, especially after that waterford whisper piece came out but now changed opinion n saying go for it after effort im putting in.,im completely self employed n I was looking for a business that will give me a different work setting, iv other hobbies..,iv v rural so things work different here and for me it would be about breaking even not making money to live off it…the second camera i need to look at however a photographer last yr did a family party n she only one camera, id sussed her out, it was a same sized as my d3200 but canon, €100 (handy money I thought at time n she had no insurance etc, just do people favours she said, as I said this rural area, she fb page, using business name not registered with cro etc)..

My house has a separate work room/office/meeting area already n iv a sunroom that my evening course photographer said great n would suit newborn photography…

im aware of insurance specifics as iv it for my other business but unfortunately need separate policy, 135 I was quoted..normally im type just go ahead but finding this so daunting…

Iv purchased nikon d3200 but im planning to set up business so felt expense worth it…however for everyday use I find it v heavy, im just 7 stone and minute I take it out people looking, carrying handbag, baby bag n now a camera bag together bit much…iv to gain confidence I suppose..I recently did a photography course n guys advice was borrow a camera first to see if suits you…

As 111 people read my posts im hoping anyone can offer me advice…even go for it…

Iv spent approx. 1k so far, did a few family occasions and public events, got plenty use of my nikon d3200 etc. Even a photograph published in a magazine corncerning my other business (I took this photograph as part of an assignment on my course) and submitted it…also produced a personalised photo card which looked v well n wud be something id b interested in..

have business cards on vista, rang about insurance €135, revenue just add in extra profit, no additional prsi etc..

is there anything im missing…my main aim is to cover my costs for insurance so anything over that bonus…

Just an update for others looking for info….contacted local enterprise office and revenue…purchased my camera…course going well…prop gathering…marketing plan underway…

Hi, im new to here but I run my own business in another area…people are always looking for a deal…the price I quote to each client is the price…any haggling let them move on quickly….iv found they will be back….if you feel you need business, run a special offer say for January etc….
