new to all this my self it took me ages to find the right camera aswell went for the nikon d5000 in the end,as michael said go into argos when you make up your mind there are great offers at the moment. i saved nearly 200 euros on mine i got mine for 650 euros most shops in dublin are 800-850.harvey norman are doing the nikon d90 now for 999.i did not find alot of differance between nikon and cannon it was just the nikon felt better in my hand.good look
