Due to upgrading to a D800, I have a mint condition D700 body 1550 Euro with a particularly low shutter count; well under 10,000, probably less than 6000. It comes in its original box complete with all leads, manual, etc. Two spare EN-EL3e batteries are also included. (3 altogether.) If you are interested, please email me: wabeonehotmail.com or call 087 8138330.

That’s a tough break Joe and, like someone else said: it’s a lesson for us all, both in matters of security, and insurance. I sincerely hope things work out well for you. I often wonder how much of this kind of gear ends up at car boot sales. We’ve a very large car boot sale here in Kilkenny every Sunday???

Ho Ho Ho..as Laura will confirm: the afternoon really cleared up to give beautiful warm sunshine. Too much light really! Sorry I missed you Cathald and Carl. I hung around Ross until 5pm and got some lovely shots of swans and an Egret in flight. Yessss, we’ll do it again,.I never tire of Rosscarbery,.always lots to photograph here. (You lucky things Laura and Carl:..living here,.I’m jealous!) Go Well, see you’s all again. Byeee :D Harry R.
By the way, Aedan C passed his apologies that he couldn’t make Ross, and said to say Hi to anyone who did. Oh,..and good luck to Carl in the driving: just treat every other road user as a complete fool, (except me!) and you’ll be fine. Nite.

Seems I’m the only one in Ross! Just about to have lunch in the Celtic Ross while loading some Tour of Irl Cycle Race pics. Then a quick look around the estuary and away home. Enjoyed the weekend..thanks Laura and Co. Go Well.

Thanks for the schedule Tom. Sorry you missed us, can’t have been by much. We left using the ferry from the end of town nearest Casey’s Hotel shortly after 11am I think. On returning on the 1.30 ferry, we had lunch in Caseys before heading to the National Park. Overall, a good day, nice folk in the group. 3 of you from Bandon alone! Pity you can’t make Ross in the morning, although it’s due to be wet. Weather permitting, I hope to arrive in Ross before 10am to have a recce before the Race comes through. For future reference, my mobile is 087 8138330.
    Go Well.

    Greetings!
I’ll most likely be travelling down from Kilkenny on the Friday and have independant accommodation. If anyone needs a lift along the route between Kilkenny and West Cork, please let me know…087 8138330. I’ll be visiting friends on the Friday evening so intend meeting you folks at the Hostel on Saturday morning. Really looking forward to “the shoot” and meeting everyone.

    Hi Folks.
I was out to the Great Saltee Island last Sunday, the 21st of June, and had a superb day with great weather. However, the young Puffins were almost fully grown and seemed to be feeding themselves. Similarly, the Gannet chicks were quite well developed, so don’t expect to take photos of Puffins feeding their young in July! Mind you, a visit to the Great Saltee Island is always a pleasure assuming good weather prevails. Parking is no problem especially if you arrive early. I recommend parking along the pier wall (near the old lightship) directly behind the public toilets. The Harbour Master’s Office is along here and there’s always lots of people around so vehicle security is good. The advice about “getting wet” should be taken seriously: if there’s a swell running, seawater can sometimes wash briefly along the passenger area of the ferry so be sure to put your gear in the the cabin or on the raised platform in the center of the passenger area. DO NOT LEAVE BAGS ON THE FLOOR AREA where passengers congregate! The chipper located almost opposite the lightship is very good as is the pub (for food and drink, name I can’t recall) on the Kilmore road opposite the RC Church. The shop opposite the lightship is great too if you want to take breakfast rolls, coffee plus other sustinance! My final words of advice: (1) When getting off the RIB (the small boat that takes you onto the landing point on the Island from the ferry boat) take great care of yourself and your gear because the rocks and seaweed are extremely slippery. And you can get your feet wet at this point too so be warned! (2) In the event that the day turns wet and you need shelter, or if you want to spread your food out on a table, the house on the Island has a rather battered old room where you can go. This is located through the trees to the right as you approach the house coming up the steps from the landing point on the beach. The remainder of the house is private property and the owner may be in residence during your visit.
Hope you all have a great trip. I’ll look forward to hearing all about it in due course.
    Go Well.
    Harry Reid.
