Worst gadget – wireless remote control for 400d a few years back. Pretty useless, was handy once for a family shot but nothing that the timer couldn’t handle, and for any other remote purposes a wired one has a more solid feel. To be fair I only paid about €5 for a cheap chinese knockoff.
Best one was a grip for the camera, really made portrait style easier due to the portrait button and more steady feel.
Thanks for all the help guys. Yeah I understand the zone sharpness and so on, been reading a lot on it the last few days, but just wanted to double check. Reassuring to see that everything is hunky dory :)
Sorry I didn’t see this post sooner. I lived in Paris for over four years so drop me a PM next time you’re visiting and I’ll point out some fine locations to visit. I spent pretty much every weekend of the last three years I was there in and around Paris shooting and could have done so for the rest of my life. Amazing city.
Well for a general “carry-around” zoom, there are some available with the focal lengths Cian mentioned above which also come with problems. However you’d need to tell more about what you shoot regularly before we could advise you on a better lens choice. Cian’s made a great stab at your needs based on your other posts, but you share some more specifics with us here :)
I’m not sure of the exact cost of a sensor but for a similar anecdotal story: after a boo boo cleaning my camera with some stuff I learned my lesson fast and stick now to a giotto blower – anything that needs something serious I drop in for a professional clean.
I hope it doesn’t cost you much to get repaired mate :(
