I think PI is doing quite well with over a hundred members with over a hundred posts and new members joining at a steady rate. I’m a member of several fora where I’ve only posted once or twice and some with no posts at all or where I just registered to see what things are like. Very few people can keep active in more than two or three and even then they’ll go through phases between active participation without even logging in. It’s when old members move away deliberately that you start to be careful.
I must pull my 50e out again before my remaining rolls go completely out of date. It hasn’t seen daylight (or nightlight) since I bought the 400D last year. It’s a more solid camera and generally nicer handling camera to shoot with – I like the big viewfinder and I often think I’d be better off with only the 3 focus points on the digital too, but then I remember the other benefits of digital and don’t take it out.
Is it fair to tweak colours etc in RAW and then say you did no photoshopping?
I’m not saying I don’t like the end result (because I do). In fact it’s excellent. I particularly like the light and colours. The scene itself isn’t too interesting to me, but the mood conveyed more than makes up for it.
I’ve been around the Phoenix Park quite a bit over the last few weeks and can’t get over the queue to get in. I thought they only built a new entrance a couple of years ago. What are they doing, frisking everyone and checking passports? I’d say it’s worth the price of membership, just to get to bypass the queue. Although, I suppose someone going for photo-purposes would be earlier than the crowd. :)
Can’t even escape to the internet today, where email filtering seems to have been broken. This morning, I was delighted to have won the lottery in four different countries as well as being offered ?10.5M by a director of a bank in Burkino-Faso. Not to mention the free diplomas and cheap masculinity drugs.
Was there myself last weekend, primarily to run the half marathon, but got some pictures on the Friday. Highly recommend Keem and the hills above. Also the beaches on the North side of the island and the bogs in the middle. Didn’t make it down the Atlantic Road to the South, but the views across to the high cliffs there from Keel were something else. Anyway, you can’t turn around without seeing a photo opportunity.
These are really great lively images. Well taken shots, despite the time of day, but your processing is fantastic (or at least I’m guessing that the out-of-camera images didn’t quite look like these?!)
