    Peter,

I like the compostion of the photo, although the folliage (or whatever that might be) on the bottom left of the frame is a bit distracting. Also, the image seems a bit too contrasty, at least for my tastes. But congrats on taking this handheld! I doubt I could put it off…

Thanks guys, both very helpful, but I was just wondering how you calibrated the camera itself, as it implies in the first post?

I’m sure the lens will work just fine, but remember that you usually get what you pay for. Good glass costs more because of it’s superior build and quality. The lens you are looking are is also not very fast, with a maximum aperture of f/4.5. It is cheap, so it might be fun to just pick up and have a go with it. You never know, it could be your favorite lens for a while to come

Haha, yeah the spelling thing always makes for a good laugh.

Well I suppose you are all right. We’re all different people anyhow, so anyone rushing to judgement is just prejudice anyways. I’ve re-gathered my thoughts and am in better spirits now. Thank you for all the insightful and helpful replies. ;-)

I think these are really great photographs; I was obsessed with rusted out industrials parks and the like for about 6 months last year, made a whole project of it. I agree that maybe they’re a bit too saturated, but the B&W or color both would work; probably just a matter of preference.

I’d love to see more of these; hope you keep up the project. :D

What were yer settings you were shooting at? Also, was it completely dark? Or some light left in the sky? Lovely photo…

Although I haven’t used polaroid extensively (just view camera last semester really), it’s still sad to see these things go the way of the dinosaurs. I hope ilford picks up production…

NFL Fan, just a quick quesiton:

Whats lens were you using, and what camera were you shooting with? I really like the way those photos came out. Any photoshop work or no?

Well thanks for the feedback everyone. I was a little upset last night because someone had lashed out at me for something I didn’t even do, and then you kind of went about saying “goddamn americans” and mocking me. It’s not that I get a ton of crap about it, but I do get enough. I agree with the fact that there are good and bad people everywhere, and that some people are more ignorant that others etc etc….

My main thing is this: I came over here to try a different way of life, and to NOT be an American, so to speak.

I don’t agree with the Bush administration, and I don’t agree or buy into the false patriotism that occured after 9/11 and all of that.

I don’t know, I’m just a bit sensitive, so I suppose I might be blowing this out of proportion. Again, everyone thank you the responses.

Well thanks everyone! Sorry I haven’t been on for a while, I just had a ridiculous time trying to find a somewhat stable residence. All is well though, thanks for the warm welcome.
